| About Hanadama - The Highest Quality of Japanese Akoya Pearls |

Hahadama is Japanese word which means pearl with high quality - thick nacre, strong
luster, virtually no blemishes.
Several institutions specializing in pearls have created sets of standards
for selecting hanadama; the most trusted and strict among these is the set of standards published
by Japan' s
Pearl Science
Laboratory. We ensure this necklace that meet the Pearl Science Laboratory's
stringent standards and further selecting only the best of these, according to
our own strict criteria.
Pearl Science Laboratory define "Hanadama" in terms of conditions
as below.
*Apply for over 6mm pearls
*Nacre thickness should be more than 0.4mm
*Tolerance level in shape is "Round to Semi-Round"
*Imperfections(surface) is inspected based on Pearl Science Laboratorys'
standard.
*The most important thing is "Luster". Shine and overtones are
inspected based on Pearl Science Laboratorys' standard.
*Artificial blemishes which influence durability should be rejected.

As cultured pearl is not a man-made, pearl grades are not pinpoint, but
"range".
This means "Hanadama" grade can be applied to wide qualities of pearls - (possibly A+) AA to AAA.
You may see Hanadama strands lower than ours at other stores, but the price
deffernces mean absolutely "quality differences"!
